Before the election used to moderatledaren Ulf Kristersson to stretch out the hand to the prime minister and the leader Stefan Löfven. Kristersson wanted to quickly make up with the S of a tighter american immigration policy.
The two largest parties shared a problem. They both want to have a more restrictive policy than their partners.
But Stefan Löfven used to refer to the EU and say that Sweden should await the EU to take joint responsibility and to create a mechanism for the allocation of asylum seekers between themselves. He was, of course, also bound by the cooperation between governments with the MP.

the EU are still discussing the matter, and the government will very soon set up a parliamentary inquiry on asylum policy. But the prospect of broad settlements are small, both in the union and in the Swedish parliament.
Hungary, Poland, the Czech republic, Slovakia and probably also Austria will ensure that there will be no redistribution of asylum seekers. The member states can agree to build the walls and guard the borders, but not to receive people on the run.
in the political debate in many countries and it is polarising. It is very difficult to believe that those countries that based their policies around authoritarian nationalism would accept a compromise.
EU countries allocate asylum seekers, it will probably be according to the old template for how to deal with issues where it is not possible to agree. Some go on, others don't. As in the case with the Euro or Schengen. President of the French republic Emmanuel Macron has proposed such cooperation. It remains to formulate a Swedish response.

73-punktsuppgörelsen between the P, C, MP, and L are added soon as an investigation. The four parties want to introduce a new humanitarian skyddsgrund, which can give more asylum in Sweden. The conservatives have threatened to not participate at all if the investigation becomes wider and look over also, integration and medborgarskapsreglerna. But the government has a rush to get a bill and only wants to treat asylum policy.
The polarization we see in Europe can also be seen in Sweden. A broad consensus on migration policy seems to go by the wayside even before the investigation has started. The conservatives do not want to shake hands with the Greens on immigration again. The new management regret the settlement that former prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt (M) made with the MP on a more generous policy 2011 bitter.
