Conservative Students will have you a boy away from higher education

Honours program means the individual studieløp where students receive academic mentors, which will lead to additional progress at the side of the ordinary studieløp. In addition there will be up to the regular collections, and additional topics in digital and generic skills. From the fall of 2019, it is added up to the fact that students will get the opportunity to follow an honours program at the University of Oslo.

Everyone should have equal opportunities to education, but the goal is not that everyone should learn the same. In sport, we see the width and elitesatsing side by side. It is required in higher education also. In the same way as those who have poor prior knowledge of a course are offered an initial intensive course, it is essential that we also focus on what the cleverest students need to develop their abilities.

The most talented students also need challenges. Therefore, the Conservative Students are happy that the University of Oslo to start up an honours program, which just are meant to provide extra challenges to those who have great potential.

We agree with the NSO, in one thing – it is a force with a great diversity among those who have higher education. By investing a little extra on those with the best professional abilities, we are to ensure just that. There is no contradiction between having great ambitions for higher education and to offer a broad education. Educational institutions makes it the world over, while Norway is sinken in the class.

the Conservative Students believe that we must have the goal of learning environments in the world. The workplace is demanding higher and higher skills, and are dependent on educational institutions to deliver. When the University of Oslo shows responsibility and takes its social mission seriously deserve the praise, not the rice.

We cheer already on the norwegians that are doing well, from Johaug and Northug to håndballjentene. Now let us cheer a little bit extra on them which makes it good in other fields also. Honours program is a golden opportunity for the future, and academic talents to achieve their full potential. The ripple effects will we all be served with. The conservative Students is very positive – let us take the academic talents seriously.
