According to the OONI, China launched in the last month, work to block any language in the nätencyklopedin. Before then, all languages – in addition to the chinese languages which was blocked 2015 – have been available in China.
"To the end of the day it is still the content in chinese that really means something," says Charlie Smith, whose name is a pseudonym for one of the founders of an organization which examines chinese censorship of online publications.
