Sky Q updates Santa tracker

Sky Glass TV and the set-top box will display a map showing Father Christmas's location on 24 December.

You can find the festive feature in the Apps section on the Sky Menu. Or, you can use the voice search button to ask the remote: "Where's Santa?" "Where's Father Christmas?"

Sky Q and Sky Glass customers can now ask "Santa, tell a joke" for Christmas jokes.

This feature allows you to track Father Christmas' movements as he delivers presents.

Most famous is the original Santa Tracker, which was launched by North American Aerospace Defense Command (Norad). It allowed some of its resources to be used for spreading holiday cheer and keeping nuclear threats under control during the Cold War.

This service has been in existence for more than 60 years. It started as a telephone service and has evolved to be a website and a mobile app for Android or iOS.

YouTube hosts several live streams of Norad’s Santa tracker. These streams are accompanied by Christmas hits.

Norad's website states that "Current conditions in the North Pole indicate favorable weather for flying."

Google has also created its Santa Tracker which tracks the number of gifts that have been delivered, as well as his arrival and departure times.
