Bertelsmann boss Thomas Rabe and his crew in Gütersloh have decided which magazines from the former major publishing house will remain, which will be sold and which will be discontinued. As clear as the will to get rid of significant parts of the portfolio seems, the result turned out to be undecided in the end.

In this issue of "Media Week" we are dedicated to the situation at RTL - because the magazine house has been under the umbrella of the television group for a year. Could the sell-out have been averted - or is Rabe more concerned with the principle, because he doesn't think publishers who primarily earn money with printed magazines are viable for the future?
