'If you were wondering why women are so frustrated with tøjstørrelser - all jeans in the picture is a size 12', she writes to the image, at the time of writing has been 'retweeted' more than 112.000 times.

A british size 12 is the equivalent of a european size 40, and quite rightly see the width of the different trousers in the picture as also quite different.

Since she Friday put the picture up on her Twitter profile, it has gotten a ton of comments, backing her point up.

Clothes sizes in general are a weird thing. I've had shirts ranging from M-XXL which were more or less the same size. How does that happen? oO

I remember years ago a friend and I bought the same trousers from H&M in the same size. Mine were too big and hers were too small so we swapped! Ridiculous. I just want to go shopping and not take the same item to try on in 3 different sizes!

Anyway, back to the original tweet - I know exactly what you mean, I have clothes in my wardrobe ranging from a size 8 to a 16 - all of which fit me. Cannot figure out what size I am. In daren't buy any clothes without trying it on - so no internet shopping for me

My 12 year old was in tears in H &M, as nothing fit. She was even trying on adult size 12 and 14! Never going in there again, teenage girls have enough to deal with.
