Tough blow to the stjernemusical: - I can't remember when I last bored me so much

First came the Dennis Jürgensens excellent book 'Love at first hiccups'. Several years after came the successful film of the same name. And now, we also saw the musical.

The last wasn't strictly necessary. There are many fine forces involved, but the result is in the Tivoli Concert hall, a pile of mess. An empty noise without meaning or goal.

the Movie's protagonists, Sofie Lassen-Kahlke and Robert Hansen, plays the supporting roles, and they do it both utterly excellent. Robert Hansen was last year hit by a stroke and a few years before it's a blood clot, but he is quite evidently and happily got well over both.

Connoisseurs will know that ’Love at first hic’ is about high school students Anja and Victor, who falls in love with each other and after some entertaining troubles get each other to the last. A not decidedly surprising development, but the fun told.

Now one can say much good about Sofie Lassen-Kahlke and Robert Hansen – I've basically just made it up – but they will today have a difficult time to act like high school students.

The case has the screenwriters intricately to let Anja and Victor live in the present, be around the 40 and suffered a marital crisis, to an extent, so Anja has moved home to his father.

The tiring story is told, while we flashback to see great parts of the movie plot faithfully rebuilt on the scene. It is still fun and entertaining, but nutidsscenerne is extremely soporific with chunky lines and a perfunctory action.

The young versions of Anja and Victor is played fine by Anna Clara Sachs Leschly and Nicolai Jensen. Not least the latter excels at that look like the movie Victor up of days, and at the same time sing absolutely enchanting.

Joachim Knop, who played the villain Peter in the film, continues the great role in the present age, but Peter is in the meantime and quite inexplicably been sympathetic.

And then there is Oliver Bjerrehuus, who plays a gimmicky guy, who is cosying up to today's Anja.

– But can Oliver Bjerrehuus play acting? I hear an awake reader ask.

the Answer is that I don't know. He does it at least not in the ’Love at first hiccups’. Dancing can he in fact does not. He moves on the stage as stiff as a plate kogechokolade.
