Three extreme athletes killed, apparently by avalanche

In an avalanche in Canada are probably the three well-known climbers from Austria and the USA claimed the lives of. The "very experienced" climbers were in the province of Alberta, on the Howse Pass, on the road, informed the Park authority on Thursday. Rescue workers had found in the field characters for numerous Avalanches as well as climbing equipment. It must be assumed that the three mountain are climbers dead.

For men it is according to media reports, the Austrians Hansjörg Auer and David Lama, as well as the American climber Jess Roskelley. They belonged to an outfitter North Face supported the Team, as the company confirmed. The rescue operations had, in the meantime, due to bad weather and the risk of further Avalanches interrupted.

We have learned that three members of our Global Athlete Team @davidlama_official, @jessroskelley and @Hans Joerg Auer were presumed caught in an avalanche on April 16th in Alberta, Canada. They are missing and we are waiting for additional information as the search mission continues. David, Jess, and Hans-jörg are valued and loved members of The North Face family and we are doing everything we can to support their families, friends and community during this difficult time. Lamas, Manager, Florian Klingler had confirmed on Thursday afternoon the first media reports about a possible avalanche or denied. He had, however, heard of well-Known Lamas appropriate fears, said Klingler and the Austrian news Agency APA.

Roskelleys father John Roskelley American newspaper, the "Spokesman-Review said," that he by the death of his son. "The Route he wanted to go, was addressed for the first Time in the year 2000," said Roskelley, who used to be considered as one of the best US climbers.
