The european Union plans to devote a quarter of its budget to the fight against climate change and has instituted a program to move 100 billion euros (110 billion dollars) in investments to make the economy more respectful of the environment in the next 10 years.
The plan of european investments will be financed from the Eu budget and from the private sector, and aims to make operational the 'Green Deal' of the president of the european Commission, and Ursula von der Leyen in such a way that Europe becomes the first continent in the world to zero emissions by 2050.
The plan will include a mechanism designed to assist the regions most affected by the transition toward industries more clean, although all the member States of the EU will be entitled to subsidies. Von der Leyen, who took office in December, has made fighting climate change the priorities of his mandate.
