The are more than just pictures

long, long time Ago was passed information by word of mouth, then signs and printed letters, and later by means of photography (and, again, some decades later, with the television and the Internet, but that's another story).

at some point, the photograph should not be more inform, but educate and people in humanitarian crises – wars, crises, poverty – compassion can. One of the most famous photographs from this Genre of social reportage of the "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea is Long (Google it!), a mother and two small children during the great economic crisis in the United States.

Until the 1960s, the Tradition of photography was as a Medium that shows the reality. And then it made its way into the world of art and in the Museum halls. Exactly this Moment of upheaval and new beginnings in the new Show at the Kunsthaus. "The new photography" is the title of the exhibition, to see in the approximately 30 photos from the in-house collection.

One of the exhibited Works, the photo collage of David Hockney (image above). This work of the Englishman, known for his colorful paintings and a pool of images is known, shows an example of the paradigm shift in photography. Also new experiments with the Medium were allowed; for example, by putting several images together, you cut, with the perspective of the plays.

art movements such as Pop Art, conceptual art or Minimal Art have influenced the photographers, who were themselves artists. When Peter Fischli and David Weiss about sausage slices, airports, or a pillow landscape (see"In the mountains", also in the scene) photographed, were you aware of any reality, but to create a work of art.

The new photographic items, the shows, the Kunsthaus, extending from 1970 to 1990, and are accordingly divers. But they all have in common is that they introduced new concepts and styles and our Habits today shape.
