Quick-Steps holdchef, Patrick Lefevere, is angry after one of his riders on Wednesday crashed violently on the 1. stage in Poland.
The Dutch master Fabio Jakobsen was heading for a top spot and maybe even the victory, when fellow Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) ran out of its orbit and pushed the Sand into the barrier close to the finish line.
- They will need to throw the guy from the Jumbo-Visma in prison, writes Lefevere in a posting on Twitter.
- I will take it into court. The kind of actions to get out of cycling. It is a criminal act, hr. Dylan Groenewegen.
Groenewegen has been disqualified for the incident, and the race organizers are considering further sanctions against the dutchman.
