No findings of the presence of coronaviruses in the test of the 125 Danish minkfarme

Following the earlier findings of the coronavirus in Danish minkbesætninger is that the past two weeks there has been made a national sample screening.

a Total of 125 minkbesætninger been tested, and in none of them is found in coronaviruses. This was stated by the Danish veterinary and food administration who has been behind the screening.

the Results from the 125 minkbesætninger, which is equivalent to one tenth of the Danish minkfarme, I am Danish minister Mogens Jensen (S).

- the Government has taken the found of Covid-19 in minkfarmene very seriously, and now that we know that the disease is not widespread in the Danish minkfarme, we can concentrate on preventing the infection in the herds and make plans for what we should do, if several herds are being infected, says Mogens Jensen in a press release.

Together with the health authorities and the Danish veterinary and food administration, the government will urgently make a strategy for how the new smittetilfælde must be handled in the future.

According to the minister it is too early yet to say exactly when the strategy will be presented.

- the Mink has proven susceptible to the disease. Therefore, we are going to ask some requirements for the owners in order to avoid that we get more smittetilfælde.

- At present, we therefore call minkejere to exercise extra caution so as not to accidentally spread the Covid-19, says Mogens Jensen.

the Screening of the 125 minkbesætninger has been launched following the discovery of the coronaviruses in the three minkfarme. The three crews have not been a part of the national screening.

All three herds are located in the north of Jutland, and, according to the Fda, it suggests that there has been talk about a local outbreak of the coronavirus.

Testing from the first two infected herds shows that humans and animals are infected with the same strain of the virus. From the third infected herd, the test is not yet ready.

Minkene on all three farms have been killed.
