Movie review: Everyone knows a rich and a thriller without thrills

Spanish Laura (Pénélope Cruz) has left his home in Argentina and will come running across the home, to the dry plains with their two children. They are on the way to laura's sister's wedding and facetajmar with laura's husband Alejandro (Ricardo Darín), who was forced to stay at home. It is a call full of övertydligheter and bakominformation.

from the outset, it feels as if everyone is unsure of the plot. You need to hammer out who is who, already in the first few minutes. Unfortunately going on these first minutes in almost half an hour. Well, I are actually looking at the clock. How long will all say:

" Hola! Qué tal?

, are linked together, a pedigree, and it is very much: ”Hello and welcome, my sister's husband and I have not seen in three years, but moved to Germany and great that you have taken a bank loan and got hit in your stolen Mercedes...”

But Laura is beautiful, and old friend, Paco (Javier Bardem) is cool. There are many who testify that there was a love between them once, which you can see for yourself by excellent acting. Bardem begins like sweat when Cruz comes into the room, and she will be as shakey as a hungover Lena Endre when they are viewed. Nothing bad about the Endre, and I have never seen her hangover – it's just a shaky parable.

Javier Bardem interviewed in DN about the ”Everyone knows”

So, the wedding feast started. Never have I seen such a rich party! It is a very long commercial for Riojavin and Spanish sausages. People laughing and dancing as if the world would go under. Should it? It is stuck in all of the rooms, in the yard. In the kitchen. Oh well, it is a undergångsfilm? As Lars von Trier's ”Melancholia” (2011)?

laura's ancient dad, partying with an electric stolshiss. I've really not saved on the powder to this party, despite the fact that everyone seems more or less broke. Which is a painfully obvious key to what's to come. You have even hired a drone that capture the working life. The drone will get very much space in the film. It must mean something.

Then goes the electricity.

, an hour into, this becomes a horror movie. But this is not so. It becomes something else. A form of kidnappningsthriller which, unfortunately, never snatches hold of me. There is a very long shilly-shallying between Laura and Paco. What ”Everyone knows” in the title of the film is also so abundantly clear that I wonder what happened. How did this movie in Guldpalmstävlingen in Cannes in 2018?

The iranian director Asghar Farhadi has certainly, among other things, made the Oscar ”The salesman” (2016). But this is not enough. The film is saved by the actors – as much as they can. But often, it feels like a long pingpongmatch between Laura and Paco.

But if you like Spanish wedding so keep the movie for it. In addition to Bardem and Cruz married in reality – which of course explains a part of the magic between them.

See more. Three movies with Pénélope Cruz and Javier Bardem: ”Eat me” (1992), ”the Flesh lusts” (1997), ”Vicky Cristina Barcelona” (2008).
