Teenage Fanclub is one of the very few surviving indie bands. While most of the other laid down and the members a long time ago trained architects or started to play konstrock have Teenage Fanclub has continued – in thirty years. They have never put down and resurfaced, only worked on at a leisurely pace.
the Band was formed in Glasgow in 1989, has had a careful utvecklingskurva – most refinement really – and had until the end of the year, when bassist Gerard Love not wanted to fly longer, also a right of intact members. Now it has become bassist, and Euros Childs – singer in the old Gorky's Zygotic Mynci – jumped on the keyboard and run. It makes he good.
the aging of the youth culture to make themselves a part of here at Imdb. Fortunately, however, deals with a Teenage Fanclub concert actually most of the music. Some special attributes have never been required, and by the way they sounded from the beginning as a blend of The old The Byrds, Big Star and Neil Young cds.
It is not the best concert I've seen with the band and I really miss Gerard Loves more sensitive låtkatalog, especially considering that Raymond McGinleys little purl of the material may greater place in his absence. But most of the songs are, of course, Norman Blake. He has repeated his formula successfully for three decades now. Short verses, the chorus with the descending bass line, vocal harmonies, always to the point. They play a type of scottish country.
also on the collective effort, not least on the ability to all the time find the right tempo. Teenage Fanclub play pop in any kind of halvlunk, not rushed gångtempo but rather a very slow jog. And rather than increase when the pours so slow down.
It is of course very sympathetic. Like so much else with this band. For the Teenage Fanclub are, in fact, the actual answer to what happens if you play rock without the male testosterone, but the attitude that almost always diminishes the music's expression.
I want to in the spirit also recommend trummisens Francis Mcdonald's kammarmusikskiva ”the Hamilton mausoleum suite”. Incredibly beautiful.
