the ROME - Intersos and Unhcr launch the program Participation, now in its third edition. The programme of empowerment and capacity-building is addressed to all the associations of refugees and local organizations that encourage the participation of refugees to social and civil life in Italy.
In line with the experience gained in 2018 and 2019, this year Participation, launches a call for identifying new associations within the national territory by involve in the activities of strengthening of the competencies. In this component, there is also an accompanying specific, articulated in formations of high-level coaching and networking events, to leassociazioni selected in the previous editions.
"Strengthening the capacities of associations of refugees, not only contributes to the building of networks of protection to the protection and support of the refugee population - Roland Schilling,representative, Unhcr Italy, Holy see and San Marino - but also to enhance the work on each territory held together the italians, migrants and refugees building each day concrete examples of solidarity and inclusion".
Who should attend . In two years, Participation has supported 25 organizations in 11 regions, providing a specific path of training, a service accompanying individual and networking opportunities at the national level, thus helping to create networks of protection for asylum seekers and refugees, and communities more inclusive and welcoming. The new call for participation to the program is open until march 15, guidelines and documentation available on the website of the program: http://partecipazione.intersos.org/il-bando/. May participate in the program all the associazionioperative in Italy that respond to at least one of the three strategic lines of the Program: protection, participation, and social cohesion.
Through the call for applications will be selected up to a maximum of 8 associations that will benefit from a training course divided into 5 modules, from June to September 2020: writing and managing projects, fundraising, communication and public speaking, the protection of refugees. Will be granted up to a maximum of 8 micro financing, the amount of which can vary from 5,000 to 8,000 euros, depending on the project proposal and capacity of the association of the offeror. Finally, the program promotes networking opportunities, to exchange practices and stimulate collaborations with other associations that have participated in the program.
"Participation grew - adds Cesare Fermi, Unit manager migration Intersos - and it has become more of a project: a community formed by dozens of associations of immigrants, who now have the strength to participate actively in the construction of a new society. This year Participation will be confirmed and further consolidate the strength of this network".
