Fun video: Jungledyr sees mirror for first time

As a part of the research project 'Mirror Image Stimulation Study', the british nature photographer Mark Fernley put a mirror and a hidden camera up in the rainforest between Peru and Brazil.

the Purpose was, according to the Caters News to study the different animal reactions when they saw their own reflection for the first time, which there has been some pretty funny footage out of.

- the Animals walk through the woods and discovers the mirror, and we can clearly see that they do not have the necessary intelligence to know that there is talk about 'selvgenkendelse', says Mark Fernley.

- When they see themselves in the mirror, see they are clearly a competitor, as they understand that it is another of their own kind in the mirror.

the Aim of the project was primarily to study the behavior of the rainforest 'big cats', but there are many other animals which went in the 'spejlfælden'.
