Filmgala withdraws the nomination after allegations of abuse

In a long article in The Atlantic published in January accused Bryan Singer for having committed abuse during over 20 years time. Something that the successful director himself denies.

”the Bafta sees the alleged behaviour as totally unacceptable and incompatible with our values,” writes the Bafta in a press release.

In The Atlantic's report said four persons to have been subject to abuse by the director, the other claims to have had sex with him voluntarily, but are minors.

Bryan Singer has been investigated by the police and has been sued on two occasions. In both cases, the investigations are closed down, but in one case, he paid 100,000 to the plaintiffs in a settlement.

the Singer denies allegations that he is in an interview with Deadline, the call for ”homophobic slurs”.

the Bafta writes that they noted that Bryan Singer denies but that the Singers shutdown will apply until the allegations have been investigated.
