Expert: Dubious effect of skolelukning

Allan Randrup Thomsen, professor of virology at the University of Copenhagen have all the time backed up on the government's dramatic decision to shut down all the country's schools and day care down. He still does.

But the professor emphasizes now, that the closure of the schools in Denmark might not have had the big effect.

But even though Allan Randrup Thomsen, i.e. doubts the efficacy of the closures, so he insists that it was the right decision, because in the beginning of the epidemic, did not know how big a role children could play in the spread of the coronavirus.

I share the government's view that it is better to act fast than to be late in time. So overall there is no criticism of the things that happened early, says Allan Randrup Thomsen.

Allan Randrup Thomsen calls it to 'find hair in the soup' and 'something legalese' to focus on, the minister of health has tightened the recommendations of the ECDC.

He considers that the recommendations are pointing in multiple directions, and roses, therefore the government in order to skip over the milder action and go directly to shutdown.

- Anyone who knows anything about epidemics, know that you must act quickly. The ECDC says in fact: You need to close the schools, but also try something else first. It is not possible in reality, for the two things exclude themselves each other.
