Eirik Stubø: We do not have the same picture of the situation

in an interview with DN as the director Jenny Andreasson tells us that she, in conjunction with the set of ”Hamlet” was shut down, was on sick leave from the theatre despite the fact that she was healthy.

a week repeatedly sought theatre director Eirik Stubø for an interview, but according to the royal Dramatic theatre's press office, it is not currently possible. He responds to why questions by e-mail, sent by pressavdelningen.

Eirik Stubø leave, however, several of the questions about the events involving Jenny Andreasson unanswered. He writes:

" I can and should not talk about individual situations and employees. So in detail I can't answer these questions. We do not have the same picture of this situation. So it is, writes Eirik Stubø, and continues:

" the Reason a performance is cancelled may not always communicated in detail. Usually, there are several reasons. Generally, we do not want to put down the performances, we want to reach the audience.

– We first tried to shoot up the premiere. We tried different ways to save the show. Then we realized that it was not feasible. It was not possible to go to the premiere.

" I can only say that I am in a phase where I have to take my comments, both in terms of the royal dramatic theatre and my own leadership.

– There is a solution with enhanced and shared leadership as we searched for a long time, the process has taken time. It can be divided to be the artistic director and ceo of the theater. Now I have a vice president next to me with responsibility for administration, finance and hr, where the working environment is absolutely central. I have responsibility for the entire theatre. It all fits together, creativity is not created by the insecure employees. But I'm very glad to have a vice president to work with, writes Eirik Stubø.

" We have done a lot, we have had trainings, calls, introduced a whistleblowerfunktion, followed up on the reported to management. But I understand that it is not enough, writes Eirik Stubø, and continues:

– Call #tystnadtagning was an awakening for all of us. During this week, we have meetings in smaller groups with all of the staff at the theatre and in the day, we have implemented a ledarforum with all managers on health and safety and the way forward.

Eirik Stubø is also responsible, in a follow-up e-mail, to a question if the statements are on an audio recording from a meeting at the royal dramatic theatre in January 2016:

– This is small part of many conversations and my previous answer has not changed. We do not have the same picture of this situation. As the head can't go in and comment on individual personnel matters, writes Eirik Stubø.
