– the Link between the evangelical movement and the deadly acts of violence against lgbt people in Uganda. I try to describe the worst consequences and tell you what it is for the country that these missionaries go to. They go there, do not understand the context and the country's history, but preach that homosexuals should die – while the president applaud that there is a group to blame. It is a kind of genocide going on, even if there are big mobs in the streets.
– Swedish christian preachers believe, and understand, not that it could have such consequences. It is not in their imagination. The people that run this are not seen as ”the other”. The difference is if it is muslims, then the reaction will be in a completely different way. Many of us may have grown up in a missionsförsamling, but to understand how radicalized parts of the movement is, especially in the united states. They are the ones that give Trump support, but many do not know is that the movement in several places is authoritarian and want a theocracy.
Journalist didn't you mention that you hope that the christian press takes up these issues. Why?
" I just think the evangelicals themselves can stop the violence in Uganda. Liberals from the west and the UN can't affect. The myth of ”homomaffian” has taken over. The only thing that can save the people from being exposed to violence and murder is to the sermons begin to be about the love of Jesus, and that no one has the right to put himself above God. First, then you have a chance to save the people, but so far have few preachers in the groups were interested in to engage in it.
