Alphabeat: We have no plans to stop

It was a big disappointment for the six members of the Danish band Alphabeat, around 25 festivalkoncerter, which was expected of them this summer, was canceled because of the corona virus.

- It has been a sorrow. I have really been burdened by it. I begin only now to be able to smile again. Also because we need to play. I am me! said Stine Team to Ekstra Bladet earlier in the day.

in Fact, had the band not played a single gig since February, when the Friday 26. June o'clock 20 stood up on the roof of the Radisson Blu Hotel on Amager. Here they gave a free concert that was shown live on eb.dk.

did you miss the concert? So you can happily revisit it here, and at the top of this article.

Alphabeat was dissolved as a band in 2013, but in 2019 they found together again and released the album 'I Don't Know What's Cool Anymore'.

Friday, 26. June was also the day, where they released the single 'Sometimes', which is the first number, the band gathered together after a six year hiatus.

'Sometimes' means therefore something very special for them as it was exactly the piece of music that gave them the feeling that they had found each other again. Number already exists on their latest album 'Don't Know What's Cool Anymore', but the single is a new version, where a solo sing.

In the course of the eb.dk's live-consignment, asked several readers, a number of good questions to Alphabeats six band members.

Here is what Alphabeat replied:

- Now that Denmark was closed down, and recently started up again - how has it affected you?

Alphabeat: We should have played 25 concerts this summer and had perhaps seen more forward to it than ever. We have been working on this comeback in 2 years and will never get it here momentum back, so it is a big disappointment. Conversely, we could well understand it, and know that all musicians are in the same boat, so it helps a little.

- I have hopefully no plans to stop the interim?

Alphabeat: No just quiet :)

- I have lived in London for a period of time - what is the most important thing you take with you from the time in the UK?

Alphabeat: We learned mega much in the three years - perhaps the most important lesson that one should really try to stick to its core, even if you are being affected by an international record label with crazy high success criteria.

- which of you took on to reunite?

Alphabeat: Anders Bønløkke handed out as the first, when he had an idea for the song Sometimes, and felt it could be the start of a new energy in the band. The rest is history.

- What to do In order to maintain Alphabeat-the energy of the 'new' Aphaebeat, so it does not end up In the end again?

Alphabeat: We have all been better to talk about things and be less konfliktsky and it is alfa omega when you need to preserve the good mood in the long term. At the same time, we are more aware than ever that what we have together is quite unique.

For Alphabeats new single, which was released today, the group had invited seven black backup singers. Photo: Per Lange
