A hunting, with unexpected consequences

In the North-East of Turkey, there is a small village, in which people communicate with each other in a whistling language that carries over mountains and canyons. The Turkish-French film-maker Couple, Guillaume Giovanetti and Ça?la Zencirci read it in a book and was fascinated. The two visited the village and found Inspiration for their third joint Film.

For Sibel (Damla Sönmez) is the whistling language is the only one that is available to it. The young woman is silent and therefore is being avoided by the residents of their village. On the fields, you may collaborate, but otherwise, you don't want to have you. It is already dear in the forest – actually, a strictly forbidden Zone. A Wolf to push around. Sibels father gives the daughter a gun and let you do what you want. It has set itself in the head, to hunt the Wolf, to show everyone what she can do.

If Sibel rushes breathlessly through a green thicket, the Film leaves the impression of the Ethnographic and takes on a fairy tale. The camera sways to the rhythm of Sibels energy-loaded movements, such as on the high seas, and the viewer will lose orientation, and The forest appears as a space with its own laws, as the landscape of the Soul. The Film dispensed with the need to maintain a harmony between man and nature; life in the forest remains a challenge.

Precisely why comes Sibel to yourself: as a wild woman. It is as if the whistling language gave her the courage and the audacity to go their own way in a world in which women of the village are not allowed to leave and the girls go only so long in the school, until a suitable marriage proposal.

A dramatic turn of the Film, as Sibel in the forest, a wounded man meets a conscientious objector, is being hunted as a Terrorist. The two understand each other without words. But suddenly, not only the police, but the whole village wants to know what is happening in the forest.

resolves The Wilderness is not a protected Zone, and the separation between strictly traditional village world and wild Sibel-world. Now the young woman, whistling, and with your gun on the shoulder has to prove, what's in it.
