65 million chinese people will now get easier access to visit Norway

Norway opens eight new visumsentre in different parts of China Monday 3. December. It means a shorter drive and lower threshold to apply for a visa.

The total population in the cities that get new visumsentre is alone at about 65 million, in addition to surrounding regions.

Norway and China have over a longer time negotiated for the opening of the visumsentrene. Applicants can now deliver visa applications and provide biometrics at eight new locations.

New centers

Access to the new visumsentre will not only contribute to increased tourism, but also more people-to-people cooperation, as well as strengthen our business cooperation between Norway and China, informs the ministry of Foreign affairs.

The new Norwegian visumsentrene open in the cities of Hangzhou, Shenyang, Xian, Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, and Kunming.

Up to now, chinese tourists want to Norway personally had to travel to either Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou to apply for a visa. It means, for example, that tourists from the big city of Chengdu has had to travel to Beijing which is 1.800 km away.
