Salvador Marín named CEO of Howden Nordics

Add this position to that of CEO of Howden Iberia

Salvador Marín has been appointed CEO of the Nordic countries in the European Region of Howden Broking Group (HBG), the largest independent insurance broker outside the US, a position from which he will lead the implementation of the HBG Strategic Plan in Finland, Norway , Sweden, Poland, Holland and Belgium.

Marín, who will combine this position with his work as CEO of Howden Iberia, will report to Luigi Sturani, CEO of Howden Europe, becoming part of the European management team, responsible for developing HBG's growth strategy.

The company, which is in full international growth -it is already present in 40 countries-, intermediates more than 14,500 million premiums and in recent years has exceeded 9,000 employees.

Currently, the Nordic Region and Howden Iberia jointly manage 1,200 million premiums among 1,200 employees, and Salvador Marín's goal is to reach 3,000 million premiums in four years and have 2,500 employees.

During the last three years, Marín has led the growth of the group's subsidiary in Spain and Portugal, where it has positioned Howden as one of the main brokers in the Iberian market under the principles of People First, territorial capillarity and specialist teams in the main corporate insurance. One of his challenges for the coming years will be to replicate these successes at a European level.

José Manuel Gonzalez, CEO of Howden Broking Group, points out that "Salvador brings to the region a professional maturity of knowledge of the dynamics of clients and markets, a unique experience in the growth of projects, and every inch of the culture that has made Howden is one of the references in our sector. Seeing him in the team that leads Europe is a source of pride, not only because of the professional recognition that he entails, but also because of the balance that he brings."

For his part, Marín indicates: "For me it is recognition of the magnificent work of the Iberia team and our firm commitment to working under the value of People First, putting the employee at the heart of the company and which translates into the special way of taking care of our customers. Personally, I am proud that the Group wants us to use the same formula in the countries of Northern Europe, where we have big growth plans".
