The shape tangled of Lewy bodies is due to the filaments of a protein called alpha-synuclein. It would be the final stage of the formation of the Lewy bodies cause the degeneration and death of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra of the brain, responsible for the control and fluidity of movements.
