The Andalusian Youth Institute, an institution dependent on the Ministry of Employment, Training and Self-Employment, collaborated with the Olula del Rio City Council to host the conferences held just a few days ago to celebrate the opening of El Canico's mural painting project. Eva Herrero, a young artist from the Almanzora, led the effort.
Rosa Maldonado (IAJ program advisor in Almeria) and Miguel Torregrosa (Consulor for Youth of Olula del Rio), attended the closing ceremony of the activity.
Maldonado stated that the IAJ had come to the municipality to appreciate the display of mural paintings in El Canico, created by Eva Herrero, a local artist. She explained that "these days have seen a high participation, where it was possible to capture this cultural and artistic heritage in this region of Almeria." Almeria's IAJ advisor stated, "The importance of developing initiatives to promote and support our youth."
The Councilor for Youth of the Olula del Rio City Council said that "during those days the culture of graffiti has been put into practice by the work of young people, led the work of Eva Blacksmith". Miguel Torregrosa said that the workshop was "where the richness of graffiti culture has been made public thanks to the efforts of the young people in this town." He also spoke of the dual objectives achieved by the workshop, which on one hand, helped the development and creation young people, and on the other, made our artists more known>>.
