The closet is outside the big city

The aim is to broaden the view of LGTBIQ people beyond the big cities. "Queens To the Rescue" is a new format of Atresplayer Premium. It opens tomorrow, just one day after the celebrations of the Pride in Madrid. According to its creators, the program was created out of "calls to help" from people who wanted to live their gender identity or sexual orientation with "absolute liberty" in rural settings and small towns where "what will they speak" is a common theme. Six stories with six stories will be delivered to the platform each month. This will reveal another side of the group who has struggled to come out of their shell.

The drag queens Pupi poisson, Sharonne, and Estrella Xtravaganza will travel throughout Spain, accompanied by Supremme De Luxe, to highlight various LGTBIQ stories. They will fly to Roda de Bera (Tarragona), to meet Hugo, who was a trans boy who confessed to his identity to his father. This chapter is the beginning. He will be able to regain his self-confidence, close the wound with his father, and serve as an example to Lucia, his trans friend. Lucia has also suffered from aggression and sees Hugo as the mirror that allows her to look in the mirror.

It has been very thrilling. It was a mental adventure. I've heard many stories and experienced all sorts of realities. I've also been in situations I didn't know existed. I'm from the city. It's more than the question of "what will they say?". It can also have a negative impact on your daily life. It is possible to lose your job, and it can affect your personal development," says Supremme De Luxe, the actress and presenter. She also said that many of the Queens to the Rescue' protagonists cannot leave their home for financial reasons. However, the communicator cautions that there are towns where "other realities" can be lived and that they "live and integrate them."

Carmen Ferreiro, director of entertainment programming at Atresmedia Television says the new format for the communication group "claims equality dialogue and understanding". We have been contacted by people in the LGTBIQ community asking for support. She says that she wanted to assist these people in living their sexual identity and gender with complete freedom. This directive emphasizes the importance of this project. Emotions will be extremely present and it will prove difficult to "contain" them. There are six stories where the protagonists will attempt to live happily with their bodies and lives. She stresses the importance of being accepted by their families.

The drags will be arriving in towns after the call for help. They will bring a clear message to the people: they are not just able to make the town look better, but also promote an artistic movement that stirs the consciences and has important values like integration, freedom of expression and self-esteem. Families and friends will have to take part in each story.

These stories also happen in large cities. The towns are more intense because there are fewer people living and things survive. Lola Ibarreta is the space director. She explains that the main characters of Queens to the Rescue want to kick, get rid off that and shout "here I am!"

The chapters will be completed on stage with a demonstration party for the entire region. They will arrive accompanied only by the 'queens. There will be many personal stories about misunderstanding, acceptance, forgiveness, and overcoming. These stories can only be told in rural settings. Drag can be used to empower yourself and get rid of burdens. It works and it's very effective," says Ibarreta. Pupi Poisson adds that she has lived with many of the things I have identified. The program also stopped in Calig (Castellon), Benilloba, Alicante, Landete(Cuenca), Linares (“Jaen”) and Campaspero ("Valladolid”) during its first installments.
