Retreats: Paris, Lyon, Marseille… What routes for the demonstrations on Tuesday, June 6?

The quote, inscribed on the pediment of a grandstand of the central court of Roland-Garros, has something to inspire the inter-union. "Victory belongs to the most obstinate." On the eve of a fourteenth day of mobilization against the pension reform, between 400,000 and 600,000 demonstrators are expected everywhere in France. Union officials thus intend to maintain pressure on the government in a social conflict that has lasted six months.

In Paris, the police headquarters expects between 40,000 and 70,000 demonstrators. The latter will meet on the Esplanade des Invalides at the start of the afternoon. The start time is set at 2 p.m., as for the previous thirteen events. The procession will set off in the direction of Place d'Italie, in the 13th arrondissement.

To reach the south of the capital, the processions will take Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni, Boulevard des Invalides, Boulevard du Montparnasse, Boulevard du Port-Royal, then Avenue des Gobelins to reach Place d'Italie. This route will take opponents a stone's throw from the National Assembly, where deputies will vote on Thursday for a bill to cancel the postponement of the legal age to 64.

The demonstrators will also pass in front of La Rotonde, a restaurant appreciated by the Macron couple and, for this reason, regularly targeted. Territorial intelligence is counting on a thousand radical elements, yellow vests and ultra-left militants, in the capital alone. To supervise the Parisian processions, several hundred police officers should be deployed.

In Marseille, the meeting is given at 10:30 a.m. in the Old Port. This is where the processions will set off, before reaching the Porte d'Aix via the Place de la Joliette.

The meeting is fixed a little later in Lyon. The demonstrators will leave the Tobacco Factory around 11 a.m. They will then head north-west of the city on Cours Gambetta, cross the Guillotière bridge and then Place Antonin-Poncet, before arriving at their destination, on Place Bellecour.

In Bordeaux, the demonstrators will make a loop starting around noon from the Place de la Bourse. After having followed the course of Alsace-et-Lorraine, the processions will cross Place Gambetta, follow the alleys of Tourny then the quays before returning to Place de la Bourse.

In Nantes, the unions and the Loire-Atlantique prefecture have agreed on the usual course. The processions will aggregate at the Miroir d'eau at 10:30 a.m. and will head towards the Nefs, passing by the Prefecture, the Cours des 50 Otages, the CHU and the Quai de la Fosse.
