This aims to mobilize the different sectors - private, public, associative and cultural - to enable some 550,000 secondary school students to benefit from internship offers. They will be offered on the 1jeune1solution platform “at the start of the year”, also announced Gabriel Attal, adding that the operation launched on Thursday “will be held in all departments by the month of June” to “mobilize businesses and SMEs of each department.
Announced at the end of September, the new compulsory internship for second-year students was also established by the decree published Thursday in the Official Journal. This consists of “a two-week observation sequence in a professional environment in companies, associations, administrations, public establishments or local authorities, in general and technological second year classes, educated in public or private high schools ".
It must be carried out during the last two weeks of June. “Obviously, our responsibility is to help you find an internship,” underlined Gabriel Attal in front of the high school students. He also underlined the importance of launching this operation in Seine-Saint-Denis “to symbolically embody the commitment of an entire nation” so that “all young people – wherever they come from – can benefit from a internship".
Bruno Le Maire, for his part, called on companies and organizations to make a greater commitment to welcoming interns from 2024. “There are 500,000 internships to be filled. So there must be 500,000 proposals. It’s not about having half of it,” he insisted to the business leaders present in the room. Several company managers took the floor to share their internship experiences and promise to offer internships to second-year students in 2024.
