Amazon Web Services hits another outage, causing "continued trouble"

AWS status pages indicate that the power outage occurred at 8:20 a.m. ET Wednesday, but has since been restored.

"We have now restored power supply to all instances, network devices and data centers affected," read the most recent status update at 8 :39 a.m. ET.

Slack, Epic Games Store, and the game Rocket League were among those experiencing problems with services, according to Down Detector, a website that monitors online outages.

An Amazon Web Services outage in December 2008 impacted banks, streaming services, and airlines.

Slack's status update states that "We're focused to getting things back into normal as soon as possible." We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

NordVPN, a virtual private network service, said that it also experienced issues related to the AWS outage. AWS is experiencing problems, and access to our website might be affected for the time being," reads a Wednesday tweet from the service.

AWS experienced a major outage earlier this month. This prevented access to many sites like Venmo and DoorDash as well as Spotify. According to published reports, AWS was again hit by an outage a week later that affected sites like Facebook, Hulu and DoorDash.
