Once at ‘Home’, now in ‘Family’: Patsy Van Der Meeren plays cleaning lady Gloria

TV In the 'Family' dives tonight, an old acquaintance. Eleven years after her departure from 'Home' plays Patsy Van der Meeren (42) again in a soap opera, now as a cleaning lady Gloria. "Such a flamboyant character, fantastic." And she is not the first transfer.

There's a book in the episode of tonight with a whirlwind by the bureau of Lars Wulf (Kürt Rogiers). Gloria Theunynck interrupts the meeting of the CEO of Fashion to her complaining about his policies. By are savings she is discharged. "Home" -viewers of the first hour remembering actress Patsy Van der Meeren as Marie. In 2008, she left the popular soap opera, and since then we saw her rarely on tv. Her focus shifted them to motherhood and her pr job at DATS 24, the stations of the Colruyt group. But the blood creeps where it cannot go, and so is Patsy again in a soap opera. "Act I like, that is in my body, under my sheet. The first time I was in the studios was around, I thought: 'I belong Here'," she says. "When I called in for that role, I am direct with my chef talk. I made it immediately clear that I would like to offer would go. That has, fortunately, allowed. Now I switched to a part-time regime. I am very grateful for that opportunity."

Brushing, bah

Patsy has a 'Family' of many scenes with Gunther Levi. His character Peter Van den Bossche takes the responsibility for Gloria's resignation. Because he is her fate would decree, he made her to turn as a cleaning lady at his home. But in spite of that beautiful act of bumping it occasionally with Gloria's character. "I think it's great that she is such a flamboyant character," says Patsy. "She says what she thinks. Or she says something first and think then: 'I had better not said.'" In contrast to her character collides with Van der Meeren fortunately not with her colleagues. "I was very warmly welcomed. Everyone is very sweet and friendly. It is also great for a number of my former 'Home'colleagues on the set of 'Family'." Also Janine Bishops, Werner De Smedt and Lien Of the Basement made the transfer.

Another thing, the actress is not in common with her character: a hatred of brushing. "It is a necessary evil, although I can really enjoy it if my house is clean. I have a cleaning lady every two weeks, because I can't do everything yourself. When I'm at home, I want to enjoy my two children."

Temporary role

Van der Meeren is already a few months on the set of 'Family', but the role is temporary. "At the end of november disappears Gloria from the story. All is in a soap, nothing for sure, eh," laughs the actress. Her boss have nothing to fear. Patsy is not going to be the door at Colruyt behind her back to save. "I'm going to my regular job does not specify. They would really take something seriously over the bridge. Actually, the situation now is ideal: half the week I work in Halle and the other half in the studios in Lint. Though it would depend on what a new contract means, but if it is just for a year... no", it sounds purposeful.
