The shockgolf of grief and disbelief that Metejoor the end of October 2016 felt when his comrade Tim Gorris (32) - an ex-professional soccer player at Willem II Tilburg - from the life stepped, he slipped in ‘So Beautiful’. “On the summit of the Mont Ventoux, I have all of my sorrow in a tribute written down, at the sound of James Arthur's ‘Say You Won’t Let Go”, says Joris Van Rossem, Metejoors real name. The number was two years ago already, but only now are promotional to the outside. “You can't believe how happy I am that I am ‘So Beautiful’ can finally share it with everyone. I have it written as a tribute to Tim, it is a song for everyone in the same way that someone lost - there are unfortunately a lot. A small bit of hope and strength, especially now during this special period.” Outstanding voice on the song is that of his sister Lisa, who we know from ‘The Voice Van Vlaanderen two years ago.
Yesterday brought Metejoor the song at Radio 2 Limburg, Sunday, he is in the kersthuis of Joe in Antwerp. And so is the train of the Flemish singer - two days a week he works as a sportleerkracht - also left. “All the comments I now get, do as much virtue,” he says. “On 31 October and 1 november, I provided the support of Niels Destadsbader in the Sportpaleis, a memorable moment. It has surely opened doors, yes.”
