Fat freeze, meditation, koudetraining, a hormonenkuur or a facelift. Marcel Vanthilt underwent it all in his new tv-quest 'On to the 100!'. The reason for the One programme was Marcel's 60th birthday, an age which he is not so satisfied. And so he travelled around the world looking for methods to are aging to stop or maybe even reverse it.
"It may sound strange, but I really have a fear getting caught when I was sixty years. Suddenly I saw the place, and that allowed me not at all," says Marcel. "I found that I still very much wanted to do. Too much for the years that there still should be. Suddenly, there was the fact that I actually 100 years should be."
The VRT left the series, although even on the shelf, the tv-maker has already silently the cape of 61 years. Still 39 years to go...25% genetically determined
The opportunity to eeuweling to be only 25% genetically determined, know Marcel. "Of course, you can suddenly very ill, but there are apparently quite a few methods that can help us to live as long. In 'On to the 100!' I put all that science, and a pack of nonsense, at a glance."
in recent years lived Marcel already considerably healthier than in the past. "I don't smoke anymore, I drink hardly and I eat healthy. It was also pretty scared when I heard that I was, what my biological age is concerned, actually not sixty, I am already over the seventy was passed."
"I am now often compared with dr. Lecompte (the controversial ouderdomsarts who claimed 1,000 years, red.)", says Marcel. "The man was according to me not so far apart. Only: he is not old (78 years, red.). So it's not that simple. But I feel strongly that the science rapidly advances. You should also not suddenly spartan life for more years to win. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, and pay attention to but what to say, cheese and meat. In moderation is a golden rule that I try to follow. Sport says me then again nothing. The 10 Miles walk is not for me, for example. Tennis, fitness and football. But I have thanks to this program, or learning to meditate."On one leg
Marcel also learned on one leg. "Those who can, will, on his old day are less likely to be dumb to fall. But I found out especially that you not only have your body needs to take care of, but also your head. Keep your head busy. Without overdoing it. Yes, I have quite a and other learned thanks to this program."What with 'Retro' on Radio 1?
Karolien Debecker leave at the end of June the ochtendblok on Radio 1, after the summer to move to the block between 19 and 20 hours. That avondslot is currently being completed by "Retro", the program that Marcel Vanthilt in march took over from Luc Janssen. "What there starting in september with 'Retro' is done, we still need to see", says VRT-spokesman Hans Van Goethem, that another program for home team certainly does not exclude. "Even though it won't do more in that time slot."
And even if Marcel leaving at Radio 1, he will still be on the radio to hear. "There'll be probably a programme for Radio 2," he says. "And I still have tv plans."
