The actress was 24 and just finished with the filming of the first season of ‘Game of Thrones’ when they have a brain aneurysm, a dilation of a vein in the brain, and bleeding around the brain. Emilia was more than a month in the hospital to recover after a life-threatening surgery. Two years later, she had again to go under the knife after a second stroke.
Emilia, who in ‘Game of Thrones’ the role of Daenerys Targaryen plays, revealed last month that she almost had been. In an article for The New Yorker, she wrote that she had never been so afraid. The pain was unbearable, she had trouble communicating and feared that it never would come.
"I saw a life for me that no longer was worth it", wrote the now 32-year-old British. "During my worst moments, I wanted to be even with the plug pulled out. I have the doctors asked me to let them die. I would do my work yet never able to exercise. Without that I was lost.”
