“22-M”, a new media dedicated to “constructive news” from countries around the Mediterranean

Marcelle, an online newspaper dedicated to “constructive news and solutions”, is launching a new media outlet on April 22 covering the same news across 22 countries around the Mediterranean. His name: 22-M. “We will publish one article per day covering a different country each time. The first report, written by our correspondent in Algeria, is devoted to the cultivation of the argan tree,” explains Nathania Cahen, co-founder of the publishing company of Marcelle and 22-M.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the articles will be translated and published - after human proofreading - in the different official languages used in the Mediterranean countries. To raise awareness of this new media, 22-M articles will initially be published with open access. “We are subsequently considering setting up, as for Marcelle, a subscription system by our readers but also sponsorship of sections by patrons, which will make it possible both to finance the media and to make access free to certain articles,” explains Nathania Cahen.

If 22-M wants to convey positive and benevolent values through these articles, this young media strives to ensure the peace of its Arabic-speaking journalists who, in the context of war in Israel, are forced not to not see their articles translated into Hebrew (English will be preferred) for security reasons. A situation that Nathania Cahen and her team obviously hope is temporary.
