To the delight of collectors and enlightened amateurs, Paris Photo returns to the capital from November 9 to 13. And let's make no mistake, this major event, bringing together this year 800 artists, the most prestigious galleries and 191 exhibitors from 25 countries, is not reduced to revealing to the public only works reserved for an elite.
We will find, along the aisles of the Grand Palais Éphémère, the works of those who elevated this medium to the rank of 8 art: from Gustave Le Gray, pioneer of photography in the 19th century, to Steve McCurry, one of the masters of the Magnum agency, through Janine Niépce, Édouard Boubat and Sarah Moon, this unmissable exhibition gives pride of place to the most iconic and popular photos of the art market.
We will also discover, in this 26th edition of which Le Figaro Magazine is a partner, the best of contemporary creation, with artists like Melissa Shook, Ken Ohara or Samuel Fosso who overturn the codes of academic photography to better raise our awareness or question us about the world around us. But also, in a time of technological upheaval, those who integrate digital practices into their photos.
