Kool and the Gang paid tribute to their drummer on social media: “In memory of our dear brother, co-founder and the funkiest drummer in the world. His beautiful soul now rests in peace. We love you George. Thank you for giving us the sound of happiness.”

Founded in 1964 in New Jersey, first under the name Jazziacs by brothers Robert and Ronald Bell, and notably Dennis Thomas, Kool and the Gang have a rare longevity, both on stage and in nightclubs, where they still dancing.

Celebration, Jungle Boogie, Get down on it, Ladies' Night, the group has many hits and has inspired many rap classics.
