BD: the Landerneau prize awarded to Guillaume Singelin

The Landerneau comics prize was awarded on Wednesday November 29 to Guillaume Singelin for Frontier, a science fiction album by a young author.

This album, published by Rue de Sèvres in April, tells the story of the rush of Humanity, forced to flee its planet of origin, towards space beyond the solar system.

Guillaume Singelin, 36, is “among the most promising talents in current comics,” said the jury in a press release. “The drawing is very impressive and the story takes us far, far away! Already cult,” declared author Riad Sattouf, who chaired the jury for this 12th edition. The BD Landerneau prize from E. Leclerc Cultural Spaces is worth 6,000 euros and offers a promotional campaign in the brand's stores.

It claims to have sold 5.2 million comics in the year to September, which represents almost a quarter of the number of books sold in its 228 stores.
