Alain Delon wanted to send a message of support to Sophia Loren, victim of a serious fall in her bathroom, which led to emergency hospitalization on September 24. The particularly warm words of the French actor were relayed by Jean-François Guyot, an AFP journalist. The Samurai wrote to the “divine”: “I think very much of you and I pray for you. A strong abracio! (a tender kiss in Dante’s tongue).”
The two sacred monsters of cinema, who by a curious coincidence have never filmed together, have had a wonderful friendship for around sixty years. Sophia Loren recently immortalized this brotherly relationship by writing these touching words in the recent biographical work Alain, amours et memoires: “I have beautiful memories of Alain Delon, including that of the Cannes Film Festival where we arrived together, with Romy Schneider , in 1962. More recently, the two of us also took a trip to Mexico, and I remember that Alain was very moved by an anecdote that I told him about Fellini. Towards the end of his life, Federico often said: “Ah, essere innamorato un altra volta!” (Ah! Falling in love again!). Alain, I am thinking of you and I greet you with all my friendship.
