University, the Cgil, on the attack: it takes 20 thousand hires in four years

It only takes three numbers to understand: currently in the state universities of the "structured", that is, teachers and researchers with the fixed place (or with the road already mapped out for him) are 51.013. The precarious workers are 14.702 more, or 65.715. Most professors and researchers unstable permanent positions, is the scourge of the insecurity that plagues the academic world. A phenomenon that drags on for a long time and does not improve, in spite of extraordinary plans - the last one announced in the Senate from the premier Giuseppe Conte - of this post. For this reason, the Flc-Cgil, presenting today, the data, goes on the attack: 20 thousand hires in four years, 5 thousand for the year ; an increase of € 1.5 billion of the fund's ordinary operating up to reach the average european level of resources for the university. "We also ask for a total review of the rules on the allocation of funds to universities: just odds and rewards, but funding based on the real needs of research and teaching," explains Massimo Russo.

The game is opened. Better, was re-opened after the resignation of the former head of the dicastery at the university Lorenzo Fioramonti in the face of a real emergency on precarious academic left on the table, beyond the exchange of ministers. "The billion euro asked by my predecessor is a reference to the right", had anticipated in an interview with the Republic, the current minister Gaetano Manfredi. On recruitment, instead, already when converting the decree-law called "Milleproroghe" the Government has presented an extraordinary plan for the recruitment of 1,600 researchers, and for the progression of approximately 1,000 aspirants to the role of associate professor. Immediately would go to 12 million in 2020, to create about 220 jobs (including research institutes), then 96 million starting from 2021 that would build the 1,600 new positions. The funds derived from those set for the new national research Agency, a new structure created in the last financial and contestatissima because of political appointment.
