A “hybrid” creation broadcast from one of “the most beautiful places in the world”. The French artist, Jean-Michel Jarre, will perform on December 25, 2023 at the Palace of Versailles for an exceptional “concert-show” intended to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the former residence of the kings of France.
“Versailles 400 is a hybrid concert-show creation broadcast live from one of the most beautiful places in the world as well as in virtual reality in the metaverse, which, I hope, will contribute to promoting our know-how and bringing in a little more the universe of French immersive creation in collective culture,” declared the French artist in a press release published on the site of the historic monument.
A way for Jean-Michel Jarre to “celebrate French innovation today in this place which was at the origin of an incredible artistic revolution, to pay homage to the great royal celebrations which have marked History and the worldwide fame of the Château de Versailles, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Wearing the French LYNX mixed reality headset, Jean-Michel Jarre will give “this concert-show simultaneously in front of a real audience within the Hall of Mirrors, and in the metaverse, thanks to his avatar, in the center of a Hall of Mirrors futuristic with an audience connected in virtual reality,” the press release further specifies. Tickets are on sale on the Palace of Versailles website. The concert will also be broadcast on the M6 group's television channels.
