There are personal issues
It’s also possible for your employees to face mental health issues. Whether it’s due to work or problems at home, they can carry the problem to work. It’s the reason why they’re no longer performing well. It might seem unprofessional, but you can’t blame them. Mental health problems are serious, and some people can’t easily cope. You have to understand what they’re going through.
Try to talk to these employees
You can help by talking to your employees. Let them know that you notice their change in behaviour and performance. Ask them what’s going on and if there’s anything you can do to help. They might not feel confident raising these concerns with you, so it helps if you bring the topic up. Don’t force them to change, but make them feel that you’re available if they need someone to talk to.
Give them a chance
Some employers might resort to the firing of employees who are no longer performing well. It's an unhealthy practice, and you should avoid it. You're a mean leader if you try doing things that way. You have to give your employees a chance to open up and explain their behaviour. It would help if you also encouraged them to bring out their best side. They already showed what they could do in the past, and there's no reason for them to underperform in the future. If they feel confident about the job, they will keep on doing better.
