MissCar, shared travels and insurance for them

Jose A. Herreros (CEO and founder of MissCar), begins by explaining to IDEAL that he has arranged for a car to be shared with unknown men. He adds that families don't feel secure when their daughters are able to share cars with stranger men via a carpooling platform.

Global ride-sharing is valued at EUR14.6 trillion for 2020. However, it is projected to grow to 48.2 trillion euros in 2026. The carpooling market is booming and new players are constantly emerging to create more competition with more personalized services.

These and other factors were analyzed and MissCar was born. It is a digital platform that offers a ride-sharing service through an app and website. MissCar's CEO stated that MissCar was created "in order for the community to have the chance to share a car with maximum peace of mind and security">. Jose A. Herreros, the founder of MissCar (CEO and precursor to the idea), Silvia Granados(CCO), Gonzalo Garca (COO), Lucia Copano(CAO), Antonio Munoz (“CSM”) and Manuel Quiross (CM) are its founding members.

Our target audience consists mainly of university-age girls aged 18-25 years who need to travel to other places to study or for leisure. We also welcome women between 26 and 45 who, whether they are working or not, wish to travel in a more safe, affordable, and flexible manner to their destination>>.

More than 20,000 members and 1,500 daily downloads

MissCar is proud to have created a product that meets the needs of its target audience. They already have more than 20,000 members.

The entrepreneur says, "We have seen the magic of virality many times, reaching the seventh place on the success list in App Store with over 1,500 registrations in one day. All this thanks to organic content that users publish on their social media networks in an entirely altruistic manner."

MissCar already has a solid business model. It has more than 29,000 downloads and 20,000 registered users. There are more than 2,500 trips that MissCar has published through the app.

They have also signed collaboration agreements in Seville with the University of Seville and the CaeDePie university residence at Seville, as well as the Colegio Mayor Careu, and they have also collaborated closely with the School of Industrial Organization.
