The strike at BFM and RMC very well attended, the debate for the municipal postponed to Thursday

A word: "treason!". For employees of BFMTV, RMC, or RMC Discovery (Altice Media), this Wednesday is a day of mobilization against a plan of management which provides for delete "330 to 380 CDI and up to 200 freelancers and contract workers", that is, about one-third of the workforce, on a total of 1600 employees, according to the inter-union (CFDT-CFTC-CGT-SNJ-UNSA). Approved Tuesday, the call for a 24-hour strike on Wednesday has been widely followed.

The immediate challenge was the broadcast of the debate for the second round of municipal in Paris, scheduled originally for Wednesday at 20.45 on BFMTV and BFM between Paris and Agnès Buzyn (LREM), Rachida Dati (LR) and Anne Hidalgo (PS). A threat hovered already on its organization, technicians and journalists seemingly very engaged. "It will take place in our premises. There is no intention in the drafting of the sabotage, and there is no willingness of management to work around the strike," had assured yesterday that Marc-Olivier Fogiel, director of BFMTV in Paris . But this Wednesday in the early afternoon, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, announced that she was not going to the debate, given the circumstances, and requested its postponement. Agnès Buzyn has followed suit. The debate was eventually rescheduled for Thursday evening, has announced the chain.

The movement the day started at the crack of dawn, to 4h26 exactly upon a passage of relay between the night team and that of the pre-morning. The time slice beacon of Jean-Jacques Bourdin on RMC, broadcast also on RMC Discovery, has largely been amputated, the moderator up to have their picture taken by colleagues, explaining that he joined the movement "solidarity". The other antennas of the subsidiary dealing with audiovisual Altice (SFR) have also been disturbed all morning.

The strikers, about 200 of them gathered this morning in front of the headquarters of Altice Media in Paris, are concerned about the magnitude of the plan of abolition of posts and its terms and conditions. They fear such departures forced. Very exposed because of the stop of the sports competitions, the chain of sports information RMC Sport News is in the first line. In a press release published Monday, the companies of journalists (SDJ) to BFMTV, RMC Info, BFM Paris, RMC Sport and the drafting of BFM Business, had already expressed their "serious concern" for the "maintenance of the requirement, and the editorial quality" of the antennas.

For their part, the leaders of NextradioTV defend "the need for this inevitable transformation," in the face of the fall in the advertising market and competition platforms. They say they understand "(the)concern, (the) doubts, and sometimes (the)" wrath of the workers while calling for "responsibility". The management has reportedly proposed "open discussions, but subject to the judgment of the strike".

on Wednesday evening, the employees mobilized have suspended their strike to resume negotiations Thursday morning with the direction, before a new general assembly to be held in the afternoon, according to union representatives.

Very sincerely, I do not see any downside to this that these chains be removed. Except BFM Business which is very well done.
