She takes up her new position at the annual general meeting on 27 march, succeeds current ceo, Anders Bouvin, who is retiring.

Åkerström started as a office worker for companies in Kalmar, sweden, 1986. In 2008, she was appointed to vice president, and then in 2016, she has been the bank's deputy ceo.
"I am very happy and proud of the trust the board now gives me. It is a very nice bank that I got to know well during my more than 30 years," she says.
