Second stay in Austria is especially popular as an investment
Live After Spain, Portugal, France and Italy is Austria's fifth most popular country for the purchase of a second residence. 90 percent of owners consider their real estate as a good investment by the interesting verhuurrendement. Many locations are both in the winter as in the summer, popular with holidaymakers.

“An average verhuurrendement on the total invested capital varies in Austria from 3.5 to 5 percent. That may sound low, but all costs are already settled," says Rob Smulders of the interest group Mondi.

“Higher rates are possible, up to 9 per cent, but you will do well to order in advance a study yield calculations to make by an independent party.” Smulders also warns for the growth of illegal brokers in Austria. He pressed buyers on the heart to ask for the qualifications of the broker and to have all contracts checked by a lawyer.
