Raging fire forces a single mother to wanhoopssprong from window of second floor

Duffel A single mother of two children hit Saturday night seriously injured in a fire in a block of flats in the Berkhoevelaan in Duffel. The woman jumped out of the window of the second floor to get to the flames to escape. Her 2 children of 3 and 11 years old were delivered.

“The fire was Sunday morning around 1 am. The fire raged immediately violently in an apartment on the second floor of a building with 6 flats,” says the mayor of Duffel Sofie Joosen (N-VA).

“At that time, were all residents -a single mother with two children at home. The children fell away on its own forces and safely down the staircase, but their mother failed to do more. The woman, therefore, is along the front of the building from the window and jumped. She was on her back and got this shot. Mother and children -who have a lot of smoke inademden - were out together to the hospital for care.”

“The other residents of the building were immediately evacuated, and in the course of the night collected at friends and family or at the hotel.”
