The manufacturer of wood fibre insulating materials, Pavatex is planning the closure of the plant in Cham. The measure will still fall in this quarter, 50 jobs to the victims.

As the reason for the closure, the company announced the Price erosion in the market for wood fiber insulation products, the rise in raw material and energy prices and the collapsing sales in neighbouring European countries. The resulting poor results of the Pavatex force the company to close the plant in Cham. A consultation period had started yesterday, informed the company on Tuesday. In addition, for the employees affected, a social plan is provided.

The Pavatex was incorporated in the year 2016 by the French Soprema group. Already in 2014 the factory in Freiburg castle, due to high production costs. The production was relocated to existing plants in Cham and in Golbey (France). (anf/sda)
