PTS will investigate the safety in 5G networks

the national Post and telecom agency (PTS) will conduct a risk assessment in accordance with EU commission recommendation for cyber-security in 5G networks.

the EUROPEAN commission has asked member states to assess the security risks affecting the 5G networks at the national level, and then to take security measures.

He does not want to give some specific comments about the Huawei is a security risk.

" I do not want to point out an individual country or individual company. We do this in order to tighten the security of the 5G network that will be built in Sweden, and the guarantee shall be valid no matter which country or which operator has responsibility for it, " says Anders Ygeman.

– 5G will connect many more products in many more access points than in the past, and then it is urgent that we raise our level of security, " he adds.

this is part of their ambition to overcome any vulnerability in the deployment of digital infrastructure, including the 5G network.

5G is the fifth generation of mobile networks and is expected to be put into use around the year 2020. The technology is not yet fully developed and work with specifications and standards is in progress.

5G is expected to enable mobile networks with much greater data transfer speeds and shorter response times, and high capacity.

the PTS should make the risk analysis in consultation with the Police, the armed Forces, the national Defence radio establishment and the Swedish civil contingencies Agency.
