a lot of girls take part in Miss Belgium because they have a job in the media to see, but that was when Angeline never the case. “For me that was never a goal,” she says in The Sunday. “I took part to my story to share and to be a role model. Miss Belgium is for me a platform.”
She finds that she managed to tell her story and looks back on a successful year. “Especially the trip to Cambodia in the framework of Hope for the Children has me touched, and also, to them, was the meeting very special. The project has been running since 2013 and each time there was a European type of visit. ‘You like us’, was the first thing that the children said. They saw me as a role model: before it was their dream to also have a light skin, blond hair and blue eyes. Thanks to my story, they realize that that is not the definition of beautiful.”
No job in the media so for Angeline Flor Pua, but hopefully one in the aviation industry. She has spent the past year hard at her degree as a pilote, that they, in december, also pulled. Most of all, she would go to work at Emirates airline. “With a Airbus to fly or a Boeing, not me. If I can fly!”, she left before the end of this paper. The next ten years they will be each month, about 900 euros to pay for her loan - the pilotenopleiding is expensive. “But that is to me all worth it. Miss Belgium lasts but a year, beauty wither on the duration. With my degree, I have a warranty for life.”
